At nights and weekends you may be requested to attend the Primary Care Centre at Exmouth Hospital. If, for any reason, you have difficulty obtaining a Doctor, please telephone the Minor Injuries Unit on 282001.

Please be aware that all telephone calls received at the Out-of-Hours Call Centre are recorded.

Whatever the day or time, if you or someone else experiences severe chest pain, loss of blood or suspected broken bones, go to your nearest Minor Injuries Unit or call 999.

FACILITIES FOR THE DISABLED

Exmouth Health Centre and Underhill Surgery both have suitable facilities for access and toilets for the disabled. For patients with hearing problems we have available an induction loop and a member of staff who can sign.

(Our Practice booklet can also be made available on request in Braille, on audio cassette tape, on disk and in large print.)

COMMON ILLNESSES

The Practice holds a supply of leaflets on "How To Treat Certain Common Illnesses". If you would like a particular leaflet, please ask the Practice Nurse.

YOUR LOCAL PHARMACIST

Your local Pharmacist will be able to give you free health advice and you don’t need an appointment. Many Pharmacies operate extended hours on a rota basis. For details call NHS Direct on 0845 4647.

CARERS

If you are looking after a neighbour, relative or friend who is disabled, elderly, frail or is suffering with a physical or mental illness and could not otherwise live at home without your help and support, you are invited to register as a Carer. The East Devon Carers Link will help local Health and Social Services to identify and support you as a Carer, provide good information, involve you in local plans and improve awareness of your needs. Please ask at Reception for further details.
