Dr Jo Butterworth graduated from the Peninsula Medical School, University of Exeter, in 2007 and completed her GP training in Exeter in 2013. After working in GP practices around Devon, Dr Butterworth joined Claremont in 2021. Her usual working days are Tuesdays and Fridays.

Dr Butterworth has special interests in research and in women’s health and contraception. She fits contraceptive coils and implants.

On her non-practice days Dr Butterworth works as a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Exeter. Her research is on the topic of patient-centred, personalised health care, with a focus on older people and those with multiple long-term health problems.

A mum to two girls, Dr Butterworth can often be found on family bike rides, or at the beach.
